The minister of works, Senator Dave Umahi, has expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of work at the Shagamu/Iperu road of the Lagos-Ibadan-Shagamu interchange axis, covering approximately 12 kilometers of ongoing construction work.
Following the assessment, an immediate directive was issued for all construction activities to be halted, whilst also giving the contractor seven days to undertake corrective measures.
Specifically, the contractor have been ordered to remove the current stone base, which was found to be composed of substandard material referred to as “dust base.”
The minister also emphasized the urgency of expediting the project once the necessary corrections have been made.
