The Zone 5 Police Command has begun enforcing the ban on unauthorized use of sirens and vehicles with tinted glass in Edo and Delta States. The action aligns with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Zonal spokesperson SP Tijani Momoh stated that the crackdown targets both factory and aftermarket tints, unregistered vehicles, illegal revolving lights, Police SPY plates, and unallocated number plates.
Motorists are urged to register for tinted glass permits via www.possap.gov.ng or remove non-compliant tints. AIG Salma-Dogo Garba warned officers to conduct the operation professionally, with sanctions for misconduct or extortion.
Residents are encouraged to report any abuse during the enforcement to the nearest police station or complaint units.
