13 Super Eagles in Camp Ahead of World Cup Qualifiers

Thirteen players are now in Nigeria’s Super Eagles camp in Ikot Ekpene as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

According to media officer Promise Efoghe, nine more players joined on Tuesday, including Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem, Adebayo Adeleye, and Benjamin Fredericks. They joined William Troost-Ekong, Amas Obasogie, Felix Agu, and Raphael Onyedika, who arrived Monday.

Efoghe confirmed that 13 of the 23 invited players are present, with the rest expected later Tuesday and early Wednesday.

Media activities include a press conference with coaches and selected players on Wednesday at Godswill Akpabio Stadium’s training pitch. Friday’s pre-match press conference and the first 15 minutes of training will also be open to the media.

Still expected are Stanley Nwabali, Bruno Onyemaechi, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Cyriel Dessers, Christantus Uche, and Tolu Arokodare.

Nigeria hosts Rwanda on Saturday in Uyo (Matchday 7), then travels to face South Africa in Bloemfontein on Monday (Matchday 8). The Super Eagles are third in Group C with two points, behind South Africa and Rwanda (four points each).
