Britten Pears Arts has announced its 2024 Autumn programme, with performances taking place from September until the end of the festive period.
The autumn season will see performances from familiar artists and rising stars, including new operas, talks, open sessions and more. The ‘Britten Weekend’ will feature performances from siblings Sheku and Isata Kanneh-Mason, as well as the Britten Pears Chamber Choir and Viola Tunnard Artist Juliette Journaux, and the BBC Radio 3 ‘New Generation Artists Weekend’ will showcase The Chaos Quartet, Fergus McCreadie Trio and Santiago Cañón Valencia. Towards the end of the season, festive performances will include Anna Lapwood with The Chapel Choir of Pembroke College, Cambridge as well as a performance of Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snowmaiden by the English Touring Opera.
Meanwhile, Britten Pears Arts will also offer open sessions, the chance to experience new works being developed at Snape Maltings as well as Family Concerts from YolanDa’s Band Jam and Mini Music Makers.
However, Britten Pears Arts is a music, arts and heritage charity based in the Suffolk coast at two destinations: The Red House and Snape Maltings. It was formed from the creative partnership of composer Benjamin Britten and singer Peter Pears and exists today to support new artists and ‘promote the enjoyment and experience of music for all’.
