Barcelona manager Hansi Flick expressed confidence that his players will recover from their dramatic Champions League semi-final loss to Inter Milan, which ended 7-6 on aggregate in favor of the Italian side after two intense legs.
The defeat ends Barcelona’s hopes of a historic quadruple in Flick’s debut season, but the coach remained positive, praising his team’s effort.
“I’m proud of my team—we gave everything. Sometimes that’s football,” Flick told reporters. “We have to accept it and start again. Winning the Champions League remains one of our goals, and we’ll be back next season.”
Barcelona must now regroup quickly for a crucial La Liga clash against Real Madrid on Sunday, where they aim to maintain or extend their four-point lead at the top of the table.
Despite the European setback, Flick has already led the club to victories in the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey, and remains on course for a domestic treble.
“La Liga will be another tough challenge, but we’ll give everything,” he added. “When the players get home in the early hours, they can look in the mirror and be proud of what they gave.”
