The Lagos state government in collaboration with Niger State, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding in agriculture, to cushion the current economic challenges.
During the signing ceremony at the State House in Marina, governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the aim is to ensure that the common man benefits from the engagement.
Similarly, the governor of Nigeria state Alhaji Mohammed Umar Bago said the MoU entails that Niger state will produce and process food for the Lagos population, being the largest consumer market.

Also, Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture Ms. Ruth Abisola Olusanya who spoke on the multiple benefits the MoU will bring on board, also named the farm produce to include beans, cowpeas, and millets, amongst others.
She noted that Lagos is working on developing more organized markets such as the Ketu market whilst extending alliances with other states to increase food in Lagos.
