Notorious Native Doctor, Levi Obieze, Arrested While Fleeing Country

Operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) have arrested a well-known native doctor, Levi Obieze, also called ‘E de play, e de show,’ who is wanted by the Enugu State Police Command for alleged involvement in kidnapping and ritual killings.

Obieze was apprehended by border patrol officers at the Gbaji checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme Road in Lagos while attempting to flee the country on a motorcycle.

According to the NIS, credible intelligence led to the arrest. Obieze, a resident of Umuojor village in Isiagu, Enugu State, is linked to the abduction of a 13-year-old girl and the discovery of two decomposing bodies of pregnant women in his compound.

The girl was reportedly kidnapped while walking to the farm with her father. Her abductors posed as stranded motorcyclists and lured the father away before seizing the girl. Community vigilantes later rescued her from Obieze’s compound after hearing screams from nearby bushes. A search of the premises led to the grim discovery of the two corpses in soakaway pits.

Obieze, known for his ostentatious lifestyle and frequent money-spraying at events, had been on the run with his four wives before his arrest. He has reportedly confessed to the crimes during preliminary questioning.

The NIS confirmed that his identity was verified using a National Identity Management Commission slip found on him. Obieze is currently in custody and will be handed over to the police for further investigation.
