Mr Julius Abure, the National Chairman of Labour Party(LP) has faulted Wednesday’s picketing of the National Secretariat of the party by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) saying it is a show of shame.
Contained in a statement through its National Publicity Secretary on Thursday, Abure also described the action as a show of rascality.
Abure alleged that the NLC broke the fence in its secretariat, destroyed the gates, unlawfully took possession of the Secretariat, destroyed properties worth millions of naira, and stole Properties including monies made for the payment of salaries and other official purposes.
The LP National Chairman clarified that NLC had been wrongly claiming ownership of the Labour Party, and since there was no notice of a trade union dispute with the NLC, the move to picket its secretariat was clearly an abuse of office and abuse of the laws of the land.
