The Management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) says the Warri-Itakpe Train Service (WITS) will resume on Wednesday April 30.
its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr Kayode Opeifa, in a statement yesterday said the suspension of the services was to enable the management to improve on the operational capacity, redundancy and customer delivery.
He said the management of the NRC apologised to passengers, stakeholders, other interest groups, and Nigerians in general whose livelihood is daily impacted by the services resumption followed a critical review of the operational and technical situations.
He noted that the train will run six days a week, from Friday to Wednesday, with Thursdays reserved for maintenance starting May 1, while Passengers who opted for refunds have been reimbursed, and others can revalidate their tickets via the e-ticketing platform.
