We begin with Table Tennis where Nigeria’s table tennis icon, Quadri Aruna, has concluded his run at the 2025 ITTF World Championships in Doha after a fourth-round defeat to Brazil’s Hugo Calderano.
In a match that promised fireworks, Calderano dominated from start to finish, winning 4-0 in just 22 minutes. Quadri Aruna struggled to counter the Brazilian’s tactical backhand play and committed several unforced errors.
Despite the loss, Aruna made history as the only African in the top 16 and the first to reach the Round of 16 twice at the World Championships.
