The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi has clarified that the Lagos/Calabar Coastal Highway is not a waste and has nothing to do with corruption as presented by Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo in his recent book publication.
Umahi who was on inspection of the coastal highway emphasized that the former president failed to consider the many benefits the poject will bring to Nigerians when completed.
The minister emphasized that the bidding process for the contract which Hi-Tech won, was transparent, while also expressing satisfaction with the quality and speed of work so far executed, just as reiterated that the section one of the project will be commissioned in the month of May this year.
