A popular advocacy program otherwise known as The Discourse on radio station, Classic 97.3 FM, has advocated that “if the government should grow the economy at 8%” – Nigerians will take care of themselves.
The Special Live event held in Lagos with the economy in focus, featured captains of industries in Nigeria.
The guest Speaker, Mr. Tilewa Adebajo who dissected the 2024 economy and set the tone for discussion – had described as “an Irony” the gains seemingly experienced in the nation’s Gross Domestic Product, as Nigeria is presently experiencing what he termed as “Stagflation.”
Noting that Nigeria’s Economy is at its lowest ebb since independence, Tilewa Adebajo who proposed intellectual discourse to formulate policies, suggested that there could be a way forward if the federal government would PRIVATIZE a lot of the economic sectors and focus on regulations.

The special edition of the Discourse also featured various panel discussions anchored by the Host; Dr. Ken Onyiali Ikpe.
Some of the panelists who spoke, suggested the government should focus more on investing in AGRICULTURE; 21st century education; and curb INSECURITY.
Responding to issues raised by participants, Minister of Trade, Industry, and Investment, Honourable Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, who was represented by Mohammed Bala, revealed that the ministry is rolling out action plans towards enhancing productivity and also making attempts to writing off multiple taxations amongst others.

Former minister of Information, Mr. Frank Nweke Jnr, in his remarks also harped on leadership and followership to drive home impactful policies.
