The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has revealed that it will conduct re-run and bye-elections in the first week of February, 2024 in 34 constituencies, made up of one Senatorial district, 11 federal constituencies and 22 state Assembly constituencies as mandated by various court orders.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, who made the disclosure at an extraordinary consultative meeting of the commission yesterday in Abuja with political party parties to brief them on the proposed elections in the New year, said the re-run elections would involve constituencies where Election Petition Appeal Tribunals had ordered are-run due to specific litigations.

Prof. Mahmoud however assured political parties that the Commission would present a comprehensive analysis of all litigations, including Governorship elections pending appeal at the Supreme Court.
