The Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, says President Muhammadu Buhari will be remembered for leaving a legacy of free and fair elections as well as massive investments in infrastructure across the country.
Gambari stated this when members of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI) visited the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The chief of staff, who lauded the president for his respect for the constitutional term limit, said Buhari had laid a solid foundation for youth empowerment across the country, and will be remembered for leading by example on probity and accountability in governance.
On Nigeria’s quest for the expansion of the 15-member Security Council, Gambari said Nigeria could not be ignored in international affairs, considering its contributions to international peacekeeping and economic potential, and with the country projected to be the third most populated nation in the world after India and China by 2050, the country deserves a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council.
