President Bola Tinubu has officially inaugurated the Red Line Rail Project in Lagos, marking a significant milestone in the city’s transportation infrastructure.
The intra-state rail service, spanning 37 kilometers, aims to enhance mobility within the city and improve transportation efficiency.
During the inauguration, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing the nation’s infrastructural development. He emphasized the ongoing reforms aimed at driving progress, despite challenges such as the recent hike in essential goods and services.
“We are not looking back on this revolution and ongoing reform,” President Tinubu stated, expressing optimism about the positive impact of these initiatives. He highlighted the importance of loyalty to the country and expressed confidence in a promising future ahead.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu underscored the significance of the Lagos Red Line project beyond enhancing mobility. He emphasized its role in reshaping the urban landscape and setting a new trajectory for development in the city.
In a statement on social media, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that by connecting critical points across Lagos, the Red Line project opens doors to opportunities, growth, and a sustainable future. He previously conducted a test run of the Red Line in preparation for its official commissioning.
The governor further emphasized that the commissioning of the LMRT Red Line represents a generational leap for the city, symbolizing progress and prosperity for generations to come.
