Protesters blocked major roads in Niger State Capital in reaction to the rising cost of living

News

Some aggrieved Nigerians blocked major roads in Minna, the Niger State capital yesterday, to protest the soaring cost of living and worsening economic condition of the people under the present administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Chanting songs, the protesters, including women and youths, said, “The rising cost of food items and poor government effort to arrest the situation has forced us to block major roads so that the government will hear our cry.”

Niger State Deputy Governor, Yakubu Garba, who addressed the protesters, assured them that the government is working towards reducing the cost of living and the consequences of the petrol subsidy removal.
