At an emergency session yesterday, the Upper Legislative Chamber said the plan will
help combat the recurring flooding and its effects around the country, as it also
requested the President to facilitate the construction of the Dasin Hausa Dam in
Fufore Local Government area of Adamawa to prevent excessive flooding from the
Lagdo Dam in Cameroon.
These resolutions followed a motion moved by Senator Abbas Iya, representing
Adamawa Central, during the emergency plenary.

debate emphasized the urgency of taking necessary actions to enable year-round
agricultural activities.
