The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has debunked a viral report that its National President, Emeka Rollas was arrested and detained by the police in Abia State.
Online report said Rollas was arrested over the weekend for alleged role in imposition of an unelected chairman on the Abia State chapter of the guild.
However, in a statement issued by Cornel Udofia AGN’s Presidential Spokesman, the guild flayed at the reported arrest, describing it as malicious, and unfounded, as it was the National President who rather went to the make official entry of threat to life at the police station, after somebody among the crowd rained abuses to the national body, issuing threats.
The statement explained that the National President was around in the State following the death of his mother In-Law, so he decided to attend the state chapter meeting to encourage participation of all members when the incident occurred.
