Worried by the rising cost of living and worsening food crisis in Nigeria, resulting in protests in parts of the country, the federal government has set the mercenary in motion to intervene in order to ameliorate the hardship experienced by citizens.
Addressing newsmen after a meeting of the Special Presidential Committee on Emergency Food Intervention on Tuesday, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris said the meeting aims to articulate actions necessary to stem the tide including the release of available food in stock across the federation.

Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Minister, who alleged sabotage in some areas, said there’s still food in Nigeria but that some individuals are exploiting the situation, which is being impacted by the volatile exchange rate.
