Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed the Lagos State Electricity bill 2024 into law, as part of efforts to reduce the state’s dependency on the national grid.
While signing the bill, the governor said it will ensure access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity for all Lagosians, as well as promote diverse energy sources, including renewable energy
.
The bill is to also foster investment, competition, and innovation in the electricity sector, as well as electrify underserved areas.
